Inunity Powers Innovation at Make for Bengaluru: A Celebration of Design Thinking and Social Impact ๐
Make for Bengaluru was successfully hosted at RV College of Engineering, Bengaluru, on 27th and 28th February, bringing together students, innovators, and mentors for two days of hands-on problem solving, collaboration, and innovation.
The event created a vibrant platform where participants explored real-world challenges through design thinking and community-driven innovation, encouraging students to move beyond theory and actively build solutions that can create meaningful impact.
Inspiring Opening Addresses
The event began with insightful addresses from distinguished leaders who set the tone for the innovation-driven gathering.
Subramanya K N welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of creativity and experimentation in engineering education.
Representing the Design Impact Movement, Meghana Katam spoke about the role of design thinking in solving real-world problems and creating community impact.
Students were further encouraged by Dr. Sagar BM, who emphasized the value of collaborative learning and hands-on innovation.
Adding an entrepreneurial perspective, Sujay Shetty inspired participants to approach challenges with creativity, purpose, and a solution-oriented mindset, reinforcing the importance of innovation platforms like Make for Bengaluru.

Over the two-day event, students worked intensively in teams to identify problems, brainstorm ideas, and develop innovative solutions. The event encouraged participants to apply design thinking methodologies, combining creativity with practical problem-solving.

Evaluation by an Esteemed Jury
The event concluded with project evaluations conducted by a distinguished jury panel that included Chengappa Munjandira, PhD, Chair Elect of the IEEE Bangalore Section, and Ritika Gandhi, Vertical Lead and Deputy Group Manager โ CSR at Titan Company Limited.
The jury carefully evaluated the projects based on innovation, feasibility, impact, and design thinking, recognizing the creativity and commitment demonstrated by the participating teams.
Celebrating Innovation and Future Possibilities
The event concluded with a valedictory session featuring Dr. Ravindra S Kulkarni, Head of the Aerospace Department at RV College of Engineering, alongside Sujay Shetty and the jury members.
Through their insights and real-life examples, the speakers encouraged students to continue participating in innovation-driven platforms and to build the confidence and capabilities needed to tackle real-world challenges.
