𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴?
Festive season means shopping, bonding, and creating memories with family. For many, this involves visiting iconic stores that have been a part of their tradition for generations.
Unfortunately, a dear friend recently had one of the most disappointing experiences while visiting a legendary saree store in Bangalore with her mother-in-law.
What should have been a joyous event turned into frustration. After spending nearly 4 hours finalizing their purchase and paying a hefty bill, there was no courtesy extended – not even a simple glass of water.
Now, I understand that the festive season brings crowds and pressure. But where is the empathy? It doesn’t take much to create a warm, welcoming environment, especially when tradition and loyalty bring your customers back every year.
Here’s what could have made a difference:
✅ Train the Team – Customer experience is more than just a transaction. A smile, patience, and showing care can transform the shopping experience.
✅ Basic Hospitality – Our culture thrives on treating guests well. A simple gesture like offering water or seating while they wait can go a long way. It shows respect and care.
✅ Empathy Matters – Shoppers invest not just money but time, effort, and emotions. Let’s ensure that our staff recognizes this and treats customers with the same respect we expect from them.
✅ Refresh and Recharge the Team – Long hours in a crowded store are tough for employees too. Encourage breaks, provide support, and keep the morale high to ensure they stay energized and positive.Traditions are about care, connection, and experience. Businesses must recognize that customer loyalty is built not just on the products sold but the way they’re made to feel. Let’s strive to preserve these beautiful traditions by delivering exceptional service that keeps customers coming back for the right reasons.
