At Kingsrose, we’ve been clear about our ambition to grow our portfolio through high-quality exploration acquisitions, with a global focus on copper and gold. With A$25 million in the bank and strategic alliances with BHP backing our generative work in Scandinavia, it’s natural that we’re often asked: what’s next? Business development in this space is rarely linear. Most of the work is quiet, confidential, and invisible from the outside. While the number of deals that come to market might suggest fertile hunting grounds, the reality is that people have been scouring the earth for economic resources for thousands of years, and any ‘low hanging fruit’ has likely been picked-over many times. The best discoveries – think Vicuña, Bankan, Kamoa – took years, if not decades, of patient, rigorous effort. Over the past year, we’ve reviewed hundreds of projects across multiple continents. Conducted deep due diligence, walked sites, and entered negotiations only to walk away when something didn’t align. We know this is a high-risk business. But it’s also one where discipline matters.
