AI Adoption at Workplaces Outpaces Training; 71% Professionals Expect Role Chang
Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption across workplaces is moving faster than corporate training programmes, with 71 per cent of professionals expecting their job roles to change significantly over the next few years, according to a new report by Genius HRTech.
The Genius HRTech–Digipoll survey, conducted online in November 2025 among 1,704 professionals across multiple sectors, highlights a growing gap between rapid AI integration and employee preparedness.
One of the key concerns identified in the report is the lack of training. About 61 per cent of respondents said their organisations have not provided adequate guidance on effective AI usage, while only 37 per cent reported receiving proper training on AI tools.
This training gap is influencing how employees perceive AI adoption within their organisations. While 55 per cent believe AI adoption is driven by business necessity, 37 per cent feel it is trend-driven rather than need-based, the report noted.
The findings also point to a major shift in workforce expectations. Around 71 per cent of professionals believe their roles or responsibilities will change significantly within the next 2–3 years due to AI integration, reflecting both optimism about efficiency gains and uncertainty about evolving job demands.
AI tools are already becoming a part of daily workflows, with 67 per cent of respondents saying they are using AI to simplify or automate tasks. While 69 per cent reported that AI has made work processes simpler, 25 per cent said it has added complexity, indicating that automation can also introduce new challenges.
Trust in AI-generated outputs remains a concern. Only 49 per cent of professionals said they trust AI insights without manual verification, while 36 per cent do not trust them and 15 per cent said trust depends on the task.
The report concludes that while AI is no longer a future concept and is actively shaping everyday work, professionals expect organisations to provide structured training, clarity and support to help them adapt confidently to AI-driven workplaces.
