Reflecting on an Enlightening Session on PCOD/PCOS with Dr. K Shilpi Reddy

We recently had the privilege of diving deep into the complexities of PCOD and PCOS with the esteemed Dr. K Shilpi Reddy. The session, organized in collaboration with Arogya World, was structured in three insightful parts—understanding PCOD and PCOS, addressing the specific challenges faced by working women, and debunking common myths surrounding these conditions.

Understanding PCOD/PCOS : Dr. Reddy highlighted the ‘pearly necklace appearance’ of the ovary, a key diagnostic feature. With a staggering 80% of her clinic visitors showing symptoms, it’s clear that these conditions are more common than assumed.

Challenges in Working Women : We discussed how insulin resistance plays a critical role in PCOS/PCOD and explored the four pillars of effective management:

        – Right Medication

        – Proper Diet : Emphasizing the importance of avoiding simple carbs. Remember, “PCOS – Please Cut Off Sweets!”

        – Regular Exercise

        – Strong Mental Framework : Support from friends and family is crucial.

Myth-Busting : We addressed misconceptions, stressing that PCOD/PCOS can occur at any age, is treatable, and is indeed very common.

Lifestyle Tips : Avoid working from home to maintain discipline, reduce consumption of tea/coffee and avoid junk snacks, and manage stress effectively to break the vicious cycle of these conditions.

The session, which saw overwhelming attendance on Zoom, YouTube, and Instagram, ended with a call to action for those affected to seek reliable information and treatment. Participants are encouraged to enroll in the comprehensive PCOD management program offered by Assurance by NanoHealth.

A big thank you to Dr. Shilpi Reddy for her invaluable insights and to all who joined us for this session. For further guidance, you can download the *Reflecting on an Enlightening Session on PCOD/PCOS with Dr. K Shilpi Reddy*
