TUNNEL OF HOPE

If I had to visualize the world of a social impact practitioner, I would imagine it to be a dark tunnel with a faint light somewhere. In a world full of dark tunnels when you see a light no matter how faint, it’s a sign of hope. It’s this hope that keeps us going at IndiVillage Foundation. We are a team of passionate and driven social impact practitioners committed to solving some of India’s most complex and intersectional social problems.

India has a rich demographic dividend. 900 million people in India are in the working age population which is expected to expand by 100 million by 2030. Closing the learning and skill gap of its future and current workforce is critical for the country’s growth.

Through our foundational literacy and STEM education programs, we are working with the future generation and enabling them to be career-ready for the jobs of tomorrow. In the year 2022, with the help of our partners, we worked with 2000 children across rural Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Meri Awaaz, a project to create a gender-sensitive school ecosystem has directly impacted 2000 participants. Our mentorship and 21st-century skill programs have greatly benefited more than 50 youths seeking gainful employment. We follow the participatory methodology and our interventions involve the integration of a gender perspective into the preparation, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the programs.

EDUCATING AND UPSKILLING AND YOUTH IN RURAL INDIA:

EDUCATING AND UPSKILLING CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN RURAL INDIA

As a growing organization, we constantly learn from our fellow practitioners. We apply those learnings in our praxis, sometimes there are hits and sometimes there are misses. The issues we are trying to solve are complex and sometimes beyond the realm of our critical comprehension. To our friends and well-wishers reading this, let’s build a community where empathy, humility and kindness can thrive.

Let’s embrace our failures like how we celebrate our successes, learn from them, move on, fail better, get up again, keep at it, and always look for the light in the dark tunnel. Here’s to hope and resilience. With this, I present to you the Annual Impact Report 2022.
