The Role
The data analyst will be tasked with gathering and scrutinizing both internal and external data to generate insightful reports. This involves developing new methodologies for data collection and performing detailed analyses on data trends. The analyst will play a crucial role in detecting patterns and trends within data sets, collaborating closely with various teams or directly with management to define the specific data needs of the business. In this position, the candidate will specifically focus on a subscription-based business model within a manufacturing firm, requiring a keen understanding of how these elements integrate with data-driven decision-making processes.

- Join the IT team and collaborate with your manager to impact business decisions through both quantitative and qualitative data analysis that highlights insights and trends relevant to business performance.
- Communicate these findings effectively to stakeholders and provide actionable recommendations for enhancing business operations.
- Ensure that data analyses are presented in ways that are accessible to diverse audiences, employing data visualization, dashboards, and other methods to convey complex information clearly.
- Apply robust database management skills to navigate large, complex data sets, drawing out key insights.
- Cleanse and refine unstructured or ambiguous data, transforming it into structured sets that can be leveraged to gain deeper insights and streamline business processes.
Key Qualifications:
To be considered for our team, you must possess the following essential skills and attributes:
- At least one year of experience in the IT industry.
- Ability to identify opportunities to enhance efficiency in data collection and analysis processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong analytical mindset with a keen ability for problem-solving.
- Skills in identifying, evaluating, and integrating external services and tools to aid data collection, validation, and cleansing.
- Development and support of reporting practices.
- Monitoring and auditing of data quality, along with providing feedback on content.
- Capability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret complex data sets specific to target markets.
- Solid understanding of forecasting techniques.
- Ability to conduct sector and competitor benchmarking.
- Proficiency in creating data dashboards, graphs, and visualizations using tools such as Macros and Slicers.
- Preferable additional skills and behaviors include:
- Familiarity with database management systems and data normalization concepts.
- Understanding of statistics and statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in analytical languages such as R, Excel, Python, SQL, and SPSS.
- Knowledge of advanced data visualization techniques using tools like Tableau.
- Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and Unix environments.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or higher or equivalent
