About

TARUN AGARWALA, a founding member and Chief Empathy Architect is a Social-Neuroscience research scholar. He studies the role of Culture and Emotions in interpersonal and interdepartmental relationships.

Empanetics is his effort to combine his expertise in running communication and technology companies with years of academic research to help leaders build and maintain empathy-powered organizations.

  • Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Psychology with a focus on Culture and Emotions at Jain University, exploring the intricate relationships between cultural contexts and emotional expressions.
  • Led Zapilio, a skills assessment company, as CEO, where he was responsible for driving strategic initiatives, overseeing operations, and ensuring the company's growth in the competitive skills assessment market.
  • Accumulated over 20 years of experience in the ICT business, serving in senior sales leadership roles at Tata Communications, Lavelle Networks, and Dell Technologies, where he drove sales strategies, business development, and revenue growth.
  • Played a pivotal role in founding the Centre of Excellence for Psychological Health at CMR University’s School of Liberal Studies, leading industry collaborations and initiatives to enhance psychological health and well-being.
  • Engages with students as a guest lecturer at CMR University’s School of Liberal Studies, imparting knowledge and expertise in various psychological and business disciplines.
  • Contributes to the academic development of CMR University as a member of the Board of Studies, helping to shape the curriculum and educational policies to meet industry standards
  • Active member of the Indian Academy of Neuroscience, participating in research, conferences, and discussions to advance the field of neuroscience in India.
  • Collaborates on research projects at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, contributing to cutting-edge studies and developments in management and psychology.
  • Holds an MBA from CMR University, where he graduated as the university topper, demonstrating exceptional academic performance and a strong foundation in business administration.
  • Passionate about reading, writing, teaching, and counselling, continuously engaging in these activities to enrich personal knowledge, contribute to others' learning, and provide support and guidance.
