• EThames Web Expo 2022: A Celebration of Student Innovation in Web Design

      The EThames Web Expo 2022, held on May 31st, 2022, was an exciting event organized under the mentorship of Prof. Aditya Nellutla. This unique platform provided college students across the country with an opportunity to showcase their web designing skills, marking a significant event in the academic calendar for aspiring web developers.

      A Unique Opportunity for Aspiring Web Designers

      The contest invited students to develop and demonstrate their websites, working directly on their laptops. The challenge was to create unique websites, either static or dynamic, using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This competition was open to students from Degree and Engineering backgrounds, ensuring a diverse pool of talent. Although EThames students were not competitors, they played a crucial role in promoting the event, engaging with students from various colleges, and guiding them through the registration process.

      Themes and Topics

      Participants were given a range of contemporary and relevant themes to choose from for their websites. These included:

      • Impact of COVID-19 on People’s Livelihood
      • Digital Marketing
      • Entrepreneurship
      • Online-Quiz

      • Methods to Develop Higher-Order Thinking Skills among Students

      The Selection Process

      The selection process was meticulous, ensuring only the most promising projects were showcased. It began with an initial registration via a provided link. Participants then submitted screenshots of their web pages, which were reviewed for selection. Selected candidates received email notifications and were invited to demonstrate their work at EThames College on May 31st.

      The Event Day

      On the day of the event, candidates from 20 different Degree and Engineering colleges, including prestigious institutions like Badruka College of Commerce & Arts, St. Anne’s College, Pragathi College, NIT Jalandhar, and Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College, gathered at EThames College. Each participant was allotted five minutes to present their website on their laptops, showcasing their innovation and technical skills.

      Recognition and Awards

      The event concluded with an award ceremony celebrating the top three winners, who received mementos and certificates. Additionally, all participants were awarded participation certificates, recognizing their hard work and dedication.

      The EThames Web Expo 2022 was not just a competition but a celebration of creativity, innovation, and technical prowess among students. It provided a platform for young web designers to shine and gain recognition for their efforts.
