Criticising/Judging too quickly…Take a pause-The Window

Quite often we end up Criticising/Judging others too quickly without understanding others and in the process endup losing good people.

A young couple moved into a new city. The next morning while they are eating breakfast, the wife sees her neighbor hang the wash outisde.

“The laundry is not very clean,” she said to her husband. “The neighbor does not know to how wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap.” Her husband looked on, but remained silent.

Everytime, her neigbor hung her wash to dry, the woman would make the same comments.

About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a nice clean wash on her neighbor’s line and said to her husband, ” Look! She has learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this?”

The husband said, “I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows!”

Isn’t it a good idea to check first, to see our windows are clean? What we see when watching others depends on the non-judgemental windows through which we look. Before we criticise or judge, it might be a good idea to check our state of mind and ask ourselves are we bonfide to look something wrong in the people we come across.
