The Prosperity doHow – by Dinakar Murthy
This week, reflecting on the incredible journey that has led to this moment, I am filled with a deep sense of gratitude and excitement. After years of hard work, dedication, and the invaluable lessons learned from both successes and challenges, I am thrilled to announce that my book, The Prosperity doHow® Inspiring Growth Empowering Lives, will be available in online marketplaces starting September 6, 2024.
This book is more than just a collection of insights; it’s a testament to the power of resilience, continuous learning, and the unwavering belief that excellence is not just an outcome but a journey. The Prosperity doHow® was born from my experiences across different cultures, industries, and the many people who have inspired me along the way. It encapsulates the essence of what it means to thrive in a world that is constantly evolving, offering practical tools and methodologies that can be applied in any context—whether you’re leading a team, managing a business, or simply looking to improve your personal and professional life.
I wrote this book not just to share the lessons I’ve learned but to address a paradox that I’ve observed throughout my career. In my years of mentoring and consulting, especially with micro, small, and medium enterprises, I noticed that these companies, which often face high levels of uncertainty and daily challenges, are the ones most in need of exceptional talent. Yet, they often find themselves with limited resources and, at times, mediocre outcomes. Conversely, larger companies, with their substantial financial power, attract the best talent but can sometimes see that talent’s potential diminish under the weight of rigid systems and compliance pressures.
It was this paradox that inspired me to write The Prosperity doHow®. I wanted to create a resource that could bridge this gap, offering both small and large companies the tools they need to unlock their full potential. The book is grounded in the idea that true excellence comes from within—from nurturing the right mindset and culture, to mastering execution through CORE (Common Understanding, Ongoing Pledge, Regular Audit, and Endless Retraining) and advancing continuously through ADVANCE (Assess Old Status Quo, Detailed Goal Setting, Vanquish Resistance, Address Confusion, Nurture Learning, Consolidate Learning, and Establish New Status Quo).
One particular story I’d like to share from the book comes from a time when I was consulting for a small manufacturing company. They were struggling with maintaining consistency in their production line, leading to frequent delays and quality issues. We introduced the concept of CORE—grounded in the Deming Cycle (Plan-Do-Check-Act). This simple yet profound approach helped them align their team’s focus and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Within just a few months, they not only stabilized their production but also saw a 30% increase in efficiency. This story isn’t just about solving operational problems; it’s about the power of a shared commitment to excellence.
Another anecdote from the book highlights the importance of mindset and culture in driving transformation. I recall working with a multinational company where the leadership was struggling to inspire their teams to embrace change. Drawing from the principles of ADVANCE, we guided them through a series of workshops and one-on-one dialogues. The transformation wasn’t immediate, but as leaders began to internalize these concepts, the company’s culture shifted. Employees who were once resistant became champions of the new initiatives, leading to a significant improvement in both morale and performance.
These stories, and many others in The Prosperity doHow®, are designed not just to inspire but to provide you with actionable insights that you can apply in your own context. Whether it’s the importance of taking strategic time-outs, as we did with the struggling company, or understanding the nuances of driving cultural change, as with the multinational, this book is filled with practical examples and step-by-step guidance to help you achieve excellence in your own journey.
Mr. K.G. Shashidhar, my first boss and mentor, and Mr. M.C. Ramakrishnan, another mentor—both seasoned excellence experts from Bosch—were kind enough to bless me by writing a foreword for my book.
I invite you to explore The Prosperity doHow®, and I sincerely hope it brings you as much value and joy as it has brought me in creating it. Together, let’s embrace the path to prosperity, with all its challenges and triumphs, and continue to push the boundaries of what we can achieve.
Mark your calendars for September 6, 2024, and be ready to embark on a transformative journey. Thank you for your support, and I look forward to hearing your stories of success and growth as you apply the principles of The Prosperity doHow® Inspiring Lives Empowering Lives, in your own life.
