Vandana Boolell on The Circle of Growth Moving Beyond Comfort to Continuous Evolution

Growth real, sustainable growth is rarely a straight path. It loops, bends, and often takes us right back to where we began, but with a new level of awareness. For Vandana Boolell, this ongoing journey is what she calls the “Circle of Growth.”

Vandana reflects on how we often assume that growth is about taking one deep breath, leaping forward, and watching life unfold magically. “Not the case, unfortunately,” she admits. Instead, she highlights how true growth begins with understanding its stages recognizing where we are, and more importantly, why we’re there.

🌑 The Four Zones in the Circle of Growth

Comfort Zone – The mind’s favorite space. It feels safe, familiar, and in control but it also halts expansion.

Fear Zone – Where the real work begins. It’s about confronting the inner critic, the rationalizations that protect the status quo, and the discomfort of honesty.

Learning Zone – The bridge between fear and fulfillment. It’s where we act, experiment, and grow but can lose momentum without clear goals.

Growth Zone – The space of alignment, balance, and inner satisfaction. Yet, linger too long here, and the cycle quietly resets returning us to comfort

🌕 Growth as a Cycle, Not a Destination

Vandana shares that dismissing the fear and learning zones has often been her fast track to frustration and that realization changed everything.

“The funny thing is,” she says, “this circle should actually be a cycle. Because as soon as we feel like we’re getting somewhere, life brings us back to the comfort zone and it’s time to start again.”

She reminds us that we experience different growth cycles across various aspects of life career, relationships, health, and purpose. Growth in one area doesn’t mean mastery in all. That’s what makes this process so beautifully human and humbling.

🌙 A Love-Hate Relationship with Growth

Vandana describes her relationship with growth as both inspiring and grounding. The hardest shift, she admits, is moving from fear into learning an emotional leap that demands courage, honesty, and vulnerability.

Her reflection is a gentle reminder for anyone navigating change: Growth isn’t a finish line; it’s a lifelong practice.

So, which zone are you in today?
