How to connect to others through messages
In this video, viewers will learn how to connect and communicate with other members on the GHRC platform using the messaging feature. This tool facilitates direct, private conversations, enabling users to network, collaborate, and engage with peers and colleagues.
To get started, users can access the messaging feature by selecting “Messages” under the “Connect” menu on the sidebar. This will open the messaging section, where all current conversations are displayed in a list on the left panel, showing member names, recent messages, and last interaction times. Options like “Archived Messages” and “Notification Preferences” can be accessed by clicking the three vertical dots next to each conversation.
Starting a new conversation is easy; simply click the Create Icon in the message panel, enter the member’s name, type the message, and hit Enter to send. Users can also start conversations directly from a member’s profile card by clicking the Message Icon. For ongoing conversations, selecting a thread brings up the full chat on the right side, allowing users to view past messages and manage options like marking as unread, archiving, and deleting messages or entire conversations.
The messaging feature also supports group chats, allowing for collaborative discussions with multiple members. Notifications help users stay informed about new messages, ensuring they never miss important updates.
The messaging tool on the GHRC platform is designed to help community members build meaningful connections. From one-on-one chats to group conversations, users are encouraged to leverage this feature to enhance their networking, communication, and engagement within the community.
